He may be visually impaired, but Taiwan singer-songwriter Ricky Xiao Huang Chi is certainly not one to balk at challenges. The winner of Best Taiwanese Male Singer and Best Taiwanese Album at the 2008 Golden Melody Awards is making new breakthroughs with his sixth album released at the end of 2009. Here, he gives listeners a full disc of his latest compositions, mixing modern elements into traditional Taiwanese-dialect (Minnanese) music. The new album's main cuts include the titular first plug "Dreamer", the second plug "Needle in the Heart", as well as "Mama's Love Song" which is dedicated to his mother.
