Info Taiwan rocker Alan Kuo (son of late actor Blackie Ko) did have a rocky start to his music career. Initially encouraged by Jay Chou to embark on his own songwriting road, Alan began to write songs that were rejected by the record company on a regular basis. He kept his creative fire burning despite the disappointment, and worked harder still to improve his music skills. His break came when Karen Mok invited him to contribute vocals to her song "Love You to Death" in 2003, and later on he had his first taste of fame with hit idol drama theme songs "Wake Up" (for Say Yes Enterprise) and "Zero" (for Mars). Alan finally released his debut album in 2005, and until now he has got three well-received albums to his name. His first retrospective collection comes in a great-value 3-CD set featuring all of the above, plus other songs like his duet with YiDA Huang on the Mandarin version of the 2006 Germany World Cup theme song Celebrate the Day.
